How Do I Protect My Wedding from Coronavirus?

You’ve been dreaming of this day your entire life…and the planning feels like it’s taken forever. And just when you’re about ready to celebrate, the coronavirus pandemic shows its ugly face right before your wedding.

So, what can you do to protect yourself and your guests from the coronavirus during your wedding?

Well, for starters, the most important thing to do is listen closely to what the CDC suggests. And, unfortunately right now, the suggestion is to limit gatherings over 10 people.

If possible, consider the option of postponement. We know, it’s not what you wanted to hear, but many catering and vending services will understand and probably be able to work with you once the smoke has cleared.

At In Light Photo Booths, we’re here for you, so if you need to talk with us about your options, please reach out to us.

With all that being said, if the show must go on, there are plenty of things you can do to keep your guests as safe as possible during your wedding.

Tips for Protecting Your Wedding from The Coronavirus

Ventilate Your Venue

Consider your venue and how you can employ added ventilation to your event, and if possible, talk to the venue about moving outdoors (even in a tent).

Opt for Plated Meals to Cut Down on Germs

Nix the buffet and do your best to keep everyone’s fingers out of the tips tray by opting for plated meals.

Wear Wedding Gloves

To protect yourself, find some wedding-dress-matching gloves for added protection during your receiving line. Everyone wants to hug the bride and groom so request air high-fives instead of bear hugs (and offer IOUs and rainchecks to disgruntled huggers).

Make Footwear Mandatory for the Dance Floor

We know the dance floor is notorious for bare-footed friends to get down and dirty…but our focus this time around is cleanliness. Cute signage can be created to urge guests to keep their clothes on!

Still Planning? Create a Bare-Bones Guest List

Consider cutting your guest count down to an extremely minimal amount, and promise a separate gathering to celebrate at a later date. Your guests will understand.

Tips for Your Photo Booth

Remember what we said about ventilation? Opt for an open photo booth and include a yardstick to ensure no one gets too close…a wedding during the coronavirus will be an event to remember, you might as well find the humor in it!

Or completely nix the props to prevent the spread of germs…and always have hand sanitizer nearby.

Insure Yourself Against the Coronavirus During Your Wedding

Get event insurance in case anyone does get sick. This is something you don’t want to come back to bite you later on.

Honeymooning During the Coronavirus Pandemic

You’ll probably have to postpone your travel plans, but that doesn’t mean you and your honey can still moon nearby or create a romantic moment between the two of you. Use services that deliver meals right to your door, treat yourselves with massages, or vow to put in a hot tub this summer, and then book your honeymoon for a later date.

It can be upsetting to have your festivities interrupted by the coronavirus, but your day will be special no matter when it is, or how you orchestrate it. Just remember, your wedding is about you and your partner…and nothing can change that.
